Balboa Park

We made use of the 80°F forecasted for this saturday to go to Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo situated in it.
The Wild Animal Park we visited a few weeks ago is also part of this zoo.
World famous for its variety, the beautiful location amid Balboa Park and the Panda Research Center make it one of San Diegos most visited sights.

Besides the zoo, Balboa Park offers a lot more points of interest. The most impressive one is maybe the museum plaza reminding on the time San Diego was a spanish colony.

The afternoon and evening we topped with a foray through Gaslamp quarter and finally with burgers and steaks in the Hard Rock Café.
Of course we did not miss the merch :)

Das fürs Wochenende angesagt 28°C Wetter nutzten wir zu einem Ausflug in den Balboa Park, bzw. den darin befindlichen San Diego Zoo.
Zu diesem Zoo gehört übrigens auch der Wild Animal Park, den wir schon besichtigt haben.
Weltbekannt für seine Vielfalt, die schöne Lage und seine Panda Forschungsstation ist er das perfekte Ausflugsziel in San Diego (siehe Bilder).

Neben dem Zoo bietet der große Balboa Park viele weitere Sehenwürdigkeiten. Am eindrucksvollsten ist wohl die Museenanlage, die in Gebäuden untergebracht ist, welche an die Zeit als spanische Kolonie erinnern.

Den Nachmittag bzw. Abend in San Diego rundeten wir mit einem Streifzug durch das Gaslamp Quarter und schließlich mit Burgern und Steaks im Hard Rock Café ab. Die passenden Merchandise Artikel haben wir natürlich nicht vergessen :)
